My dad, who's still in the hospital (and not doing so well) has said several times that he'd like to have a kitten, which is kinda funny b/c he's always been a staunch dog person. Since a real kitten isn't practical right now, we got him an animatronic one he's named "Damnit."

Just gonna throw this out there that no book is more prescient for the times we face. It’s not hyperbole to say that the similarities to right now are chilling. You won’t vote your way out of this with a spineless opposition party and this is going to end very badly for many, many people.

After living in France since April, it's *really* an eye-opener to come back to see - or endure - what America eats. Folks, seriously, we're fed ABSOLUTE GARBAGE and charged an outrageous price for it. Keep in mind, like with healthcare, America is the outlier; other countries don't allow this crap.

My dad's been in the hospital for several weeks. This morning when I came to visit him, everyone on staff was wearing a mask for flu prevention. That's good, although it's nuts to see folks a) wearing procedure masks instead of (K)N95s, and b) that we're in the 12th COVID wave...

We're in more than "a bit of a wobble." Any nation with 60 to 70+ million voters who would vote for Trump as many as THREE TIMES in a system that would allow someone like him to take power even once CANNOT BE TRUSTED. EVER. Not without major governmental reforms that aren't gonna happen.

I suspect most of us who've served aren't surprised that the military hasn't "taken out" Trump & co. Where are our 'leaders'? Looking out for themselves; think they're going to risk their own necks? You know who the cavalry is, if it exists at all? Look in the mirror: it's you. It's us. We're it.
This is what I don’t understand. I don’t know where the fuck everyone is either. I honestly thought Trump and his evil stooges would have been taken out by the military by now. I’m kind of shocked actually. We’ve always claimed to be the most powerful country, but nobody has any balls. NOBODY!!
