Jane, you absolute bad-ass.

Thank you for your life and your work.

Thank you for your compassion for the people, and the animals that we share this world with.

This is a moment for HIGNFY.
Anyone can (and does) make mistakes. I do. You do. HIGNFY does.
The key is what it does next.
Hislop will often hold his hands up when he knows he’s been wrong. What happens next?
Come on HIGNFY. Point at yourself. Laugh at yourself. Set the record straight.

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

Paris-Berlin sleeper: low carbon, 2 years old, constantly full, but currently losing SNCF a few million EUR/yr

Intl Jet fuel tax exemptions are 80 years old and cost the EU 22 million EUR/yr for the Paris-Berlin route alone.

And you're cutting... the sleeper?

Oh I remember - starmer is chasing reform votes…. Sigh

The core motivation for id cards seems to be voting id but I’m not sure what is wrong with striking down the stupid Tory voter id law; it was demonstrably a piece of dog whistle legislation solving a non-problem.

🤣🤣

But of course rock lobsters have an AQI, laze around in warm waters, and prefer bbq’s.

Don’t ask about about the Moreton bay bugs, they are weird and get shunned by all the lobsters.

Three common themes across the stories:

1. The lack of accountability in public life

2. The ultra-rich have essentially declared war on civil society

3. The UK lacks the staff to run core functions like tax and probation.

Happy lunch :)

Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.

I'm not the only one to make this point, but there will need to be the equivalent of Nuremberg Trials when this is all over (however long that takes). If there are no consequences for fascists, we'll keep having fascism.

Can folks do me a favor?

I was on Bluesky early & it was great. Mostly. I hit the eject button in January.

I came back, many colleagues are here, but still don’t know I am.

I co-created Halt and Catch Fire. I write TV & comics.

Here’s two favorite set photos.

Repost? I am in the wilderness.

Excellent thread about a lazy and frankly shameful @theguardian.com piece which regurgitates Boyne's statement without investigation or interrogation.
