one of my favorite bits of gay Minneapolis history - to set the scene, around about 1979-1980, the Mpls Police Dept. frequently raided gay bath houses. In July 1979, there was a charity softball game between the cops and the gays, and the gays won!

Like several others like it, this painting reimagines the three drops as a flowing stream. As usual, St. Bernard is portrayed as tonsured and wearing the hooded white habit of the Cistercian Order. There are several versions of the story in the various vitae and they all claim that the event was witnessed, as it is here. But the versions do not agree as to the identity of the witness

in 1928 "jelly shower" meant something vastly different than it does today.
