The asylum backlog is currently 6-10 years in the us and will only get worse because all decisions are currently paused. You can get a work permit, purchase property in the us, marry a us citizen, have us citizen children and then be told whoops, you didn’t get asylum after all. It’s fucked up.

Democrats failed many immigrants. They allowed many peoplr to stay here but did not give them any meaningful binding path to citizenship or permanent residency. Abolishing ice is only one step in reform. If you were allowed to build a life here, you should be given citizenship, period.

The police department can’t tell me whether I’m legally allowed to drive into work today (due to the weather). Literally said “I can’t answer that”. So you can maybe ticket me or tow my car because “ignorance of the law is not an excuse” but you can’t tell me what the law is?

Yeah the philando Castile murder also really fucked me up when I heard about to for the same reasons.
ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.
