Early morning thoughts: as I age, I've become more committed to the radical idea that we are rich enough to ensure that no one goes hungry, everyone gets decent health care with or without a job, and there is housing for everybody. Billionaires are proof this is possible and attainable. Just do it.

When official sources of information dry up or become unreliable, rumors and conspiracy theories take their place. That does not always bode well for whoever is in power.
Here's the planned BLS data release schedule for Nov 2025.

On Tues, it couldn't release Sept job openings, hires, layoffs and firings data.

This morning, it couldn't release 2025Q3 business Productivity and Costs data.

Tomorrow, it can't release Oct 2025 #JobsReport

A lot more than it is today.
This is really almost an obsessive belief that democracy is dead in a country were democracy is very clearly alive.
How imperfect does it have to be before it stops being one?

The SNAP contingency fund holds around $6 billion.

Trump refuses to spend it on the American people.

The same guy who just fast-tracked $40 billion to Argentina.

Trump thinks Argentina deserves our money while he lets Americans starve.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

Late afternoon thoughts: given what is coming out in court about ICE and Border Patrol, this country needs some serious systemic reform of law enforcement and LEO training. Saying "not all cops" doesn't change the fact that law enforcement institutions have failed the citizenry of this country.

I swear, if the day should ever come that I encounter this person, I would let everybody know that they were NOT YOU. (Sheesh.)
In all this time, I apparently missed (or forgot being told about) a FAKE "Diane Duane" - that has to be weird and just offensive on so many levels.
...Now, though, I'm wondering whether or not that con's "Diane Duane" was the fake one who was running around for some years pretending to be me (until the fans caught her and she went to jail for multiple frauds). (Details here: www.dianeduane.com/past-news-it...)

They have the time to tweet at me but no time for Trump to pick up a phone and negotiate huh?
Early-afternoon thoughts: the election victories last night were the result of organizing. But since billionaires are going to spend a LOT of money to fight these wins, we have to keep organizing and keep turning out. Fifty years of GOP overreach doesn't get solved overnight. Keep fighting.
Noontime thoughts: if the GOP wasn't bought-and-paid-for by the Trump Organization, they might have enough brains and willpower to treat Trump as a lame duck, and ferociously tack back towards the "center" (which is where they dragged the Overton Window over the past four decades). But I doubt it.

So what can you do? 🤔

1. Continue pressuring your lawmakers, let them know how unpopular and dangerous censorship and surveillance bills are.

2. Spread the word! Many people have no idea the internet they know and love is under threat.

We need to take steps to: curb gerrymandering; end voter suppression; fight racism disguised as "fair play"; ensure that government shutdowns do not jeopardize social programs and federal worker pay; restore fair taxation of the billionaire class; and a LOT of other measures. This fight is NOT over.
Late-morning thoughts: the Trump regime is bent on destroying our formal and informal political norms and practices, along with billionaire capture of the regulatory process. This goes back at LEAST as far as Dick Cheney's term as VP. That destruction must be stopped and never tolerated again.
