Hard for me not to believe that DOGE's whole data steal wasn't payback for his millions in donations and election machine hacking. Sounds like a deal to me.

Not for long if they pony up $1 Billion.
re: the so-called Board of Peace:

Some of those countries are on the Visa ban list!

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Morocco, Mongolia, Pakistan and Uzbekistan

Interesting 🧐

True. It was odd. Unless it was a personal issue.
Something us upnin Ottawa. There is no way Carneybskips a media availability following a 2 day session with his team without something momentous afoot. I bet the Monday new cycle will be remarkable!

Minnesota showing up!!!
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

Don't f*ck with Canada...we'll send a Polar Vortex your way....and we can handle it. Southern US, not so much.

I will just keep repeating. I have never never never seen anything like this. 30 years of reporting.
Have a larger story on this coming, but I’ve been embedded with this group, and this story from yesterday is part of what they’ve been doing in the city: religionnews.com/2026/01/22/h...

So Trump's Board of Peace is just the international version of Mar-a-Lago for nation states, right?

OMG these people...

We need to shut them down hard.
I'm at Heritage Park, a petition signing location in Stony Plain for Alberta Independence. Folks are lined up waiting to sign, with speakers set to begin at 7:00 pm. Will live tweet below 🧵

Hahaha!!

That's our PM whooping it up that Old Donnie rescinded his Board of Peace invitation.
You gotta love this photo. It's not AI. It's real. And near everyone on the planet outside of Canada will have no idea what's going on, why, or what it means. The day before, Carney was Davos Man, who had seized the world's attention. Now this. It looks like a hallucination.

OMG Albertans!!!

Listen to this guy!!!

Snort.
This is so good, but Americans friends will only understand 25%. Minnesotans, 75%. 😆

Well, hey - at least you get $1 billion of that $40 billion you gave Argentina back, amirite, America?

Except I think Trump is actually just pocketing the entry fees.

I'm wondering if Carney's ultimate goal is an association of middle powers similar to BRIC? Canada, Mexico, Europe, UK, Australia, NZ, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, etc...Not a bad idea if he can pull it off.

Excellent article showing our power as consumers.

America, sometimes we don't put our elbows up - we instead just put our wallets down.

Fascinating reporting from the Minnesota frontlines....
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Canadians relate.
Another friend put it to me like this: "ICE has made the classic Nazi mistake. They've invaded a winter people in the winter."

Sounds like his "concept of a plan" for healthcare.

Never gonna happen. Stall until he's gone.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

If the review was a sure thing, he'd be more active.

Thing is, I can't decide if I want him to stay or go. He's so unlikeable that I kind of want him to stick around. The comparison between him and Carney is stark.
I imagine Pierre Poilievre is busy whipping support in advance of his leadership review vote nine days from now, but he sure has been quiet about Mark Carney’s Davos speech yesterday.

Can a few medical professionals chime in with an ETA on this guy's demise?

He looked and sounded terrible in the two rambling, incoherent speeches he gave this week.

It's gotta be soon.
