When the Ministry cannot explain how a foreign company won a national contract to hold the learning data of every child in Aotearoa, it is not an administrative inconvenience.

Every decade, we hear "the kids can't read or write!"

Interventions that don't work are proposed. Those that do work are ignored: reducing class sizes, making kids & families feel safe at school and welcome, becoming a community resource.

When their expensive reform fails, they yell at us again.

MJ was challenged when he referred to the bs phonics data as proof the changes were working. He responded with anger.

He wasn’t invited to speak about boys achievement. He chose to do so. His presentation put boys poor achievement down to the strong female culture in schools. Nothing else.

What the actual...? And I say that as someone who was fascinated by history at this age level, as some kids are, but even then would have found it bizarre to be being taught it in school in this way.
