While the focus for many Americans today is Super Bowl Sunday, I am in the middle of Corner Gas Sunday. A day where we watch Corner Gas all day, this year with Chili Cheese Dogs for lunch that even Oscar is eyeing up. I hope @brentbutt.bsky.social approves.

I made this Change.org petition 5 years ago. And now on Super Bowl weekend while The Chiefs look to relocate from Mo to Ks, I think it’s a good time to revisit the idea of changing their iconography from the indigenous version of “Chiefs” to the Firefighter version.

I recognize options are limited. But every Democrat needs to be out there, reminding ICE and CBP that there is no statute of limitations on murder.
Democratic presidential candidates need to promise prosecutions of those who commit crimes on Trump's orders.

I am constantly reminded of when my partner had a Turkish colleague in grad school that told her the US looked a lot like Turkey about a decade before things went bad there. That was in 2017, and here we are.
We've seen this movie before -- In Venezuela, Turkey, and Zimbabwe, a popular strongman came to power with an absurd view of the world, and not enough checks and balances. They destroyed their monetary institutions. Does the US have enough checks and balances to prevent Trump from filming a sequel?

This agency is out of control if leadership is no longer checking violations of constitutional rights. Congress absolutely must step in before more people are kidnapped/killed.

I was puzzled for a moment about why DHS would release the phone footage from the murderer's point of view, since it clearly shows that the murderer was in no danger from the victim.

With the Kansas City Chiefs moving to Kansas, now would be a great time for them to take up my idea to modify from a Native American theme to a Firefighter theme. Get past the racist things like the Tomahawk Chop, but keep the brand the same.
Years ago I wrote a letter to the local KC paper that I thought they should rebrand to Firefighter style Chiefs, it would let them just start calling it the fireaxe chop. They could partner with Firehouse Subs for and work with the local fire department for events. It was of course not published.
