If you are in Canada and know companies that are hiring, can you please help my friend Alexia? She’s brilliant and cool and wonderful and an asylee from the US for being trans. #MutualAid #ElbowsUp #Canada #Solidarity #TransRights
Getting laid off is hard to navigate, in the best of times.

Getting laid off while you’ve fled your country for being both Hispanic and trans and awaiting asylum in a new country feels especially cruel.

I’m crushed.

Absolutely enraging headline.

There's another world leader who has a lot more power and actually stumbles quite a bit more than AOC. Really curious why the Times doesn't frame his comments as having "some stumbles" as well!

You are one member of a larger coalition. That coalition has a process through which it decides who will lead it. “If you don’t decide to support my guy, I will leave the coalition” is behavior that will destroy the coalition, weaken yourself, and ultimately lead to worse outcomes than participating
Hey maybe the dems should learn a lesson and not run "moderate" Dems who are actually just republicans
The reason people are concerned about lefties saying “I won’t vote for a moderate Dem” isn’t because they want Newsom. It’s because lefties keep not voting for moderate Dems!

I think all the scolding about it being years til the primary would hit a little harder if WE DIDN’T JUST GO THROUGH THIS

Apparently all you have to do is criticize ICE for tech companies to start giving your info to DHS. Very cool and good.

Every leftist concerned with Cuba right now really ought to keep in mind Kamala Harris would neither have kidnapped Maduro nor be throttling Cuba to death right now, were she President.

If you abstained because she "wasn't perfect", congratulations. You should've thought of this before not voting.

People who refused to vote for Kamala Devi Harris fucked the world over in new ways we will continue to learn about daily.
We’ll literally never recover from their decision.
Of so many things to be infuriated about, this is perhaps my biggest gripe. Pancreatic cancer patients, who face a future without hope, are being denied a potential game-changing therapy

I don’t understand how Ryan Murphy gets 300 million and Nicole Kidman makes 800 movies a year but we can’t get a medical procedural about Dr. Titanji. 💙
Whenever I am he ID consults, we occasionally get paged for a suspected "Zebra". 99% of the time it is not a "Zebra". Just a regular "Horse" that could have been solved by a good history, physical examination and chart review.
ID docs are not wizards we simply talk to patients and are thorough :)

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies.

It was a "sideshow," I was told.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

🧵“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”

It isn’t that these are that truths all can see, or that all support. It’s that these truths are self-evident to *us*.

It’s an identity statement. Our identity statement. 1/
My policy views are still firmly to the right of 90% of people on bluesky, I'm still a limited government market liberal broadly speaking. But I'd rather hang out with progressives who share basic values and human decency than people who like tax cuts and also paste my face onto Auschwitz memes.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

I was surprised to see the Cardinal of NJ order Catholics to oppose ICE funding last month. Then I realized: they’ve see this movie before in Pinochet’s Argentina and Montt’s Guatemala. The disappearing of Catholic priests and nuns is coming next.
Note: Allegations of racial profiling aren’t just coming from congressional Democrats.

Over the past month, Cardinal Cupich, who oversees the Archdiocese of Chicago, has repeatedly claimed that his own priests have been racially profiled by DHS agents. religionnews.com/2026/02/10/c...

I hate you feel draged for liking the movie! OBAA was a quality flick!

There is definitely much to be learned by studying the characters, but Sinners is in a class of its own with systemic critique and even sympathy for those who fail to meet the moment

Art set in revolution vs. revolutionary art

Something unusual is I’m cool with tough critiques. To be dragged by smart people helps me get better and think better. I welcome it. And oh I am getting dragged over OBAA. Please be assured I hated Crash and The Green Mile! So if you enjoy watching me get dragged, do I have a thread for you!
Truly, to be dragged by the best is an honor and terrifies me to possibly fall into the same trap I excoriated others for supporting the Green Mile and Crash. So, I have a few thoughts for consideration for both of you.
