since I've been doing this work for about 8 years now, almost passively at times because I was afraid, its actually really damn hard to take up space as a reconnecting native when nobody talks to you. I've lost count at how many messages and emails have been left on read over the years.

I've been saying for years I want to learn Spanish because its objectively useful to know with where I live and work but I think especially in today's circumstances its more important than ever.

going only a *little* insane that I've gone so hard on the genealogy research that when I reach out now to like, historians and archivists I start to realize that I might know a TINY bit more than what they previously knew about my own family

the videos of the local ICE raids showed me one thing: these officers are using personal vehicles. That means that there are workers in offices somewhere, either in state or federal buildings, who receive those reimbursement sheets for mileage and calculate it.

"mark epstein sai--" mark epstein was emailing with his brother while he knew his brother was trafficking and abusing children including joking with him over email about powerful figures. IMO he's an enabler for sex abuse and i'm not immediately willing to trust anything he says about this case.

a lot of folks saying he's fine releasing them now bc its been scrubbed but surely there's multiple copies of the files and too many to reasonably scrub in this quick of a turnaround
