The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

Feels like the only posts of mine that go viral are the ones with my northern lights photography. So if you're interested in chasing lights in Iceland with a scientist on a side quest one evening, let me know.

We can talk about Kp v Hp, solar cycles, aurora ovals, all of it!

NEW! 🦠🦧 We revisited a perplexing paradox: do wildlife really pose less of a risk to human health as they become more endangered? Turns out, it's sampling bias all the way down: conservation risks correlate with disease surveillance blindspots. 🔓 esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
Viral diversity and zoonotic risk in endangered species

The energy transition happens often in unlikely places at unprecedented rates.

Take Nepal: Over the past year, electric vehicles accounted for 76 percent of all passenger vehicles and half of the light commercial vehicles sold in Nepal.

Five years ago, that number was essentially zero.

Hard to separate this iteration of fascism/authoritarianism from Big Tech. Big Tech has funded it; Big Tech's guiding ethos "move fast and break things" and "overconfidence in technocracy" informs how it governs; Big Tech's constant rent-seeking took over the federal government.

#GrumpyPolitics Telling troops that they must not follow unlawful orders is not sedition. It is not undermining the President.

Unless the President is giving unlawful orders and knows it. In which case, he might throw a tantrum.
