The long game here is that this could be an indicator of a major collapse of the games industry. From a "bad video games conglomerate reaps what they sowed" perspective, yes, I'm with you. Not much to be sad about here. This could be a death knell for bigger things however.

localStorage is probably the most friction-free way to do client-side data persistence, but I have (perhaps unfounded) concerns that you might get a weird flash of an unintended site color scheme. I'm generally fine with my browser sending my preferred color scheme to a site, is that insufficient?
