now to torture the metaphor imagine a scientist being like yeah we use lasers in our research all the time they're super handy, and subsequently getting their shit pushed in by people that think all lasers do is burn retinas and waste electricity
imagine a company going cubicle to cubicle just randomly handing out high powered lasers "lasers are the FUTURE and this company is going to be PART OF IT!!!!" and then being surprised somehow when the end result is mostly just a bunch of burned retinas and wasted electricity

(still doing ai discourse actually) anyway imo my biggest problem with ai is how its being *pushed* to keep the economic bubble growing; you can't just give randos a fucking chatbot window and say "integrate this into your workflow, trust me its better" but thats exactly what they're doing anyway
