Children never grow too old to enjoy a smiley face drawn on their work. I suspect most adults would love it too.
This sort of stuff is just NICE.

Well, that is just lovely. We had a similar moment at the end of sports day last year at the local stadium where the entire school cheered the toddler who’d decided to run the track. He stumbled, the crowd held its breath. And the roar when he got up and kept on running brought a tear to my eye.

Couple of years back was at a Christmas dance recital. One of the girls made a mistake in her solo and ran off crying. Everyone understood. Then right at the end they put the lights up and everyone got up to leave. And then the teacher said "please sit down, Simone has decided she wants another go."

Also the whole fascist thing doesn't bother Trump because he doesn't care. He's probably never even thought about it. He probably doesn't know what fascism is. It's just a word to him.
Is Trump being nice to Mamdani that surprising? Trump always defines himself as a businessman on the side of winners and scornful of losers, and he has no real ideology beyond popularism. Mamdani is on the up - Trump will want to be part of that until he's on the way down, then he'll turn on him.
