This statements seems to lack the "how", because there's plenty of schools nationally where there's not sufficient staff capacity for all those who need one-to-one. To imply that it's as simple as that is crass at best.

In the week when @edsupportuk.bsky.social have released the teacher well-being index identifying how time poor senior leaders already are this is further evidence of how detached policy is from reality.

Lazy terminology from DFE here. ‘SEND’ classes? Cc @bennewmark.bsky.social
This is baffling. In pretty much every primary school now, *every* class is a SEND class. Do I need a TA from every class to agree to staff breakfast club. Do they get a choice? What about their own morning responsibilities?

I’ve written my first post on Substack. It’s about ‘meeting the needs of pupils with SEND’.

The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

I always found it impossible to take part in surveys that asked me to stipulate what was ‘ SENDCo time’. Ear- marking set time doesn’t work in practice. If a colleague needs support, you can’t just ask them to come back on Wednesday when it’s your SENDCo time. Same with urgent calls from families.

I'm becoming really worried about our SENCOs.
I think their job is becoming systemically impossible.
They're being ground down by impossible workloads and now huge numbers of complaints, which makes it all but impossible for them to be strategic.
I'm worried we're going to lose them,

The book police can get in the bin. Anyone making value judgements on how other people engage with books, or their choice of reading material - fuck ALL the way off and take your supercilious wankery with you.
I ran a reading group at work for 10 years for blind/visually impaired using audiobooks - would be a brave person to tell them what they were doing wasn't "reading."

Comics, audio, e-format, whatever, from Mills n Boon to Tolstoy, ALL reading is valid and de facto A Good Thing
People who dismiss e-books or audiobooks as being somehow less worthy or less meaningful than physical books are missing the point of books. Books are not ink and paper, just as human beings are not defined by their physicality. Books are connections; emotions; ideas; just like their creators.

Jaw-dropping update about our leasehold investigation detailing the lengths to which my colleague @djstimms.bsky.social has gone to track down Andrew Milne.

Particularly enjoyed the fact that colleagues from Liverpool and London were also involved. Mill Media is now more than the sum of its parts.
Horrified, Becky read Milne’s words. “I accordingly am entitled to vacant possession of the property”, he asserted. “I am writing to give you 7 days notice that I will have a locksmith and agent attend to recover possession for me and change the locks”.

Latest update in our Andrew Milne story 👇
After Becky’s mum died, it was time to sell her childhood home. Then Andrew Milne got in touch
