Holy shit! I often glance wistfully at the EWS tile in my podcast player and didn't have a clue that @totalplaytime.com was a thing! This has absolutely made my day.

It was a lovely reminder that the show has a legacy, which is very easy to forget when you're not actually working on it any more

This is delightful, such a beautiful expression of love for something that was such a big part of my life, which now feels so incredibly long ago (because it was, tbf)

Ten years ago Rusty Quill Gaming released its first ever episode! And ten years on we still love it!

In celebration, a very talented bunch of people came together to offer a tribute for a show we still hold close to our hearts.

Please enjoy

You get to enjoy mythical, broad-strokes adventuring alongside narrative fiat abilities (i.e. "this thing becomes true for your character"), before diving into a really engaging combat system where placement on the battle grid really matters.

I think it also sidesteps the issues I have with combat focused systems (where narrative just boils down to "make check, pass or fail") and with more narrative focused systems (where combat feels floaty and ephemeral due to a lack of specificity).

Been thinking about ICON ttrpg and why it appeals so much to me as a system, and I reckon it's because it uses completely different mechanics for narrative and combat. Not being restricted to one style of game means it can achieve everything it wants really effectively.

Thanks! That's probably my favourite bit of the whole thing, really chuffed with how it came out

It's nice rediscovering all the people I used to follow on Twitter and seeing what they're up to

Been a while since I picked up a brush, but I'm still really happy with this big Skaven ratgod I did. Currently rotating him in my mind to build up enough enthusiasm to paint my backlog
A Warhammer Age of Sigmar miniature. It is a large rat demon with a green robe and purple skin, holding a birchwood staff.

You ever think about waking up to find your limbs replaced with ten thousand writhing digits. Your mouth sealed shut so you cannot scream as you skitter involuntarily around the bed?

Yeah, nah, me neither.

Alright, working out how Bluesky works. So far I have identified the Portal of Misery and the place where the people I actually want to hear about live.
