I really wish folks on my side of the political fence (same as yours) would stop trying to micromanage ways of describing something or groups or whatever. The media has detailed who the people are, what they're doing, and why they're doing it. EVERYONE following news coverage knows these are locals.
National media: Please stop describing what’s happening in Minneapolis as “protests.” There has been a modest, sustained protest outside the Whipple federal building, about 10 miles from downtown, but... 1/3

The memo cites no legal authority, only a further secret DHS's General Counsel (replaced in the early days with a Trump loyalist) opinion saying administrative warrants filled out by an ICE officer are sufficient to break into homes of people ordered removed.

Here's what such a warrant looks like.

If they're *really* systemic (and the memo should help prove it), then Lyons shouldn't preclude standing to bring a classwide suit for injunctive relief.

Chillingly, the whistleblower says that ICE trainers were directed (no paper trail?) to train all of ICE's new recruits that these administrative warrants authorize breaking into peoples' homes, even though DHS's own training materials still make clear that's illegal!

ICE secretly told its officers that any time someone has been ordered removed, ICE can break down their door.

It has been accepted for generations that the only thing which can authorize agents to break into your home is a warrant signed by a judge. No wonder ICE hid this memo!

I try to avoid hyperbole when it comes to Trump policies, but this is absolutely frickin’ insane—on about eleventy different levels.

Massive, systemic Fourth Amendment violations because … reasons.

Our reporting has found that ICE sent 600 immigrant kids to detention in federal shelters in 2025.

A 17-year-old was detained at a traffic stop because officers couldn’t make contact with his dad, who is deaf.

Another kid ended up in a shelter after making a wrong turn:

ICE kidnapped a 5-year-old and sent him alone to a facility in Texas. Hell isn't hot enough.
Here’s the report from KARE. The boy is five-year-old Liam Ramos.

This picture broke me, but the description of this kidnapping by a witness who says ICE referred to this precious child as “it” as they took him away fills me with an unspeakable, murderous rage.
Sharing this report of ICE depravity from Facebook at the request of community member. This is from a suburb north of ICE-occupied Minneapolis.

The text is from her post on Facebook.

Autopsy report classifies ICE detainee’s death as a homicide
The report deeming an ICE detainee’s death in Texas a homicide comes the same day that a federal judge temporarily barred the deportation of two witnesses.

Terrific piece by this @washingtonpost.com contributing columnist I don't remember ever reading before.

Y'all should read it. It's chilling as hell, but almost certainly accurate.

I think that was Bill Cassidy's reason for adding the final vote last spring to confirm RFK Jr, and why several senators who badly wanted to vote against Hegseth voted for him. Same for Patel.

I think it's why the Big Bad Bill got through Congress. And why MTG resigned and others are cowering.

ICE not allowing agents to have unsupervised copies of ICE policies or to take any notes is an admission by ICE that it knows the policies are illegal.
