Guys. If Elon Musk controls communications with the entire civil service, & he controls the payment systems of the US Treasury, he’s quite a long ways in to running a coup.
If Elon Musk controls communications with the entire civil service, that means Trump does not. So doesn’t that mean mean Musk has just perpetrated a partial coup? Trump controls the military & possibly the Foreign Service, but Musk controls the Civil Service.
Trump doesn’t know most of what his administration (eg, Musk) is doing until he hears that people are pissed & it makes him look bad.

Thing is, how does he get rid of Musk? He’s given Musk access to emails for the entire Civil Service. Trump can’t give orders to the government unless Musk allows it

“There’s so much evidence that people are experiencing a much less traffic-congested environment,” said Janno Lieber, the MTA CEO. “They’re seeing streets that are moving more efficiently, and they’re hearing less noise, and they’re feeling a less tense environment around tunnels and bridges.”

Millionaires and billionaires would be perfectly FINE not getting salary for 33 days, or even 333 days.

The average American, folks like you and me working paycheck to paycheck, would not. Do NOT let billionaires make decisions for US.

PASS IT ON.

Es alucinante cómo ha bajado la contaminación en París en 15 años. Anne Hidalgo lo ha llenado todo de carriles bici y no sólo ha reducido la contaminación en un 40%, sino que ha sido reelegida.

Trading car space for green space, bike space, kid space…trading pollution for people. Good trade.

I’m biased obvs but we literally have a guide on the MTA website about using the subway that explains some of the confusing bits, including directions on signs/in announcements. I can understand being intimidated but there are so many resources available to help people use our public transit.
A lot of people are hating on this but I think it's a pretty eye-opening account of what it's like for non-NYC-savvy travelers (aka most of the country) to experience the city

The subway can be intimidating for folks who have only known suburbs

I travel 100 days a year, but I'd never been to New York City until now. There were literal highs but disappointing lows.
I spend a third of my year traveling, but I somehow didn't make it to New York City until this winter. My first trip to the Big Apple was interesting.

Check out this view Mt Vernon from the top of the old Maryland Penitentiary. There's so much detail in this shot, from the Calvert Station yards and the Fallsway, to the Guilford streetcar elevated, at least one church that no longer exists, and Peabody and the Belvedere at the edges

Why talk so much about bike infrastructure? Simple: we use it every day and it makes our lives better.

If our city didn’t have it, our lives would be worse. We’d either spend more money or have less mobility. We’d be less active and healthy.

More people should be this lucky.

Hartford line double tracking.

108mil was awarded to double track more of the Hartford line, that branches off at New Haven and runs to Springfield. Trains top out at 110mph on this section. This double tracking will reduce delays and add capacity for more service.
