I walked by Havel's office one day in 1992. You could just do that; it's in the castle with other bureaucratic offices and tourist stuff.
We didn't try to go in, and I don't think he was there that day,
but it was no big deal, just a waiting room and secretary desk behind glass doors to the walkway.

Agreed.
Though if I were a nuclear terrorist wanting to attack the US,
as opposed to Russia/China/NorthKorea,
I'd ship a bomb on a container ship from somewhere else and explode it as close to a port as was practical given current detection tools.

I have done that, on a machine we were returning to the maker,
and it was interesting to see what things persisted longer.
(e.g. "ls" goes away early, but "echo *" sticks around until you log out.)

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

College friend, a night-owl, was living in an attic room, and often woken at dawn by the squirrels running across the roof.
One night she got fed up with it, turned her stereo speakers to the wall, and cranked up the bass at 4am. Woke up the squirrels, who made noises and headed away.

Friend was in LA on business in the 80s, walked from his hotel to dinner (a ways), got accosted by a cop for doing so.
Cop demanded to see his license and registration (these are feet, don't need a license), though he did have an old expired DL in his wallet, he was currently a non-driver.

It's been really, really nice seeing the Catholic social justice tradition in the US feel like it's empowered to spread its wings again without risking censure after a long time of being suppressed by US Catholic leadership, and it's exactly what I was hoping for from Pope Bob.
