Religion is just about community or part of their culture for these folks. They use it to justify their lifestyles and worldviews. American slaveholders were notorious for this, and these people are their spiritual successors.

They don't want to risk their fat happy lives over Greenland or Europe.
It's not just Republicans, I think there are just too many people who will acquiesce in whatever Trump does as long as it doesn't seem to affect them personally.

Unfortunately, the culture is to always defer to civilian authority, no matter how immoral it might be.
I agree that if the United States does attack Greenland, we are no better than Russia.
More Americans should care about this, but I fear most will do nothing.

I have to say, as a man with two mothers, I find the derisive deployment of language like "lesbian" and "lover" by those on the far right who are trying to justify Renee Good's death particularly disgusting and dehumanizing. These women. They are wives. They are a family. That's it.
