While I am good in a crisis, I'm rarely anxious. After too many years of that thought process saying some variation of 'We can put off that essay until 9pm on Sunday a night!' I learned to ignore it, get things done in advance and plan, cause that process only ever lead me to ruin since 5th grade.
Oh there's a tonne of pressed bootleg DVDs out of Asia. As an anime fan, it's been a thing for over two decades. Blu-Ray not nearly so much but there's far less plants able to produce them too.
But DS9 and VOY for that matter rather famously have no HD remaster, SD is as best as can be made, to these companies it makes the most sense to sell a DVD as it maximizes the number of consumers they can reach in a single SD SKU.
These are all highly popular in streaming Sitcoms, which also have had complete DVD sets available for a long time, and have had BD and even UHD releases made to expand into the collectors and such. The DVD SKUs remain available for those with only DVD players.
SD-BD has worked with anime collectors because they are a turned in demographic with BD players. However, despite how many game consoles are out there, 'DVD player' still has higher penetration than 'BD player'. They sell DVDs to reach the most consumers.
Cereal is kinda weird now. My Wal-Mart had the Wednesday cereal as recently as 6 months ago when S1 was 2+ years old. And I'm still just like 'Netflix shows have Cereals now???'
I dunno. SDExpress is pretty sick but the weakness was adoption. 'Why should my device use SDExpress when there's so little demand for SD Express cards?'
The Switch 2 using it gives motivation to make a lot more of them, and thus for more devices to include SD Express drives.
