Wasn't this just the natural progression of the Opinion Section taking over everything in media? She made a whole "news" org that was just the Opinion Section and that was enough to leverage her way into the deal. It's not about real journalism it's about farming clicks.

I recommend we all read @jonronson.bsky.social 's book "So You've Been Publicly Shamed".

This site is becoming early Twitter and largely has the same problems that no one has learned from or remembers.

I do think the bsky can be different but social media will always be a reflection of ourselves

I think Jay is cringe but seeing people flood back to other social media sites which are 100x worse is more cringe. Is actually kind of refreshing how petty and weird this problem is. Absolutely meaningless in comparison to what's happening on X and Facebook
