Great video about the dangers of nostalgia. On a side note, If you are into music, I'd recommend Retromainia by Simon Reynolds.

Genuinely think this is all we need for a psychopath test. Show kids the Muppets, if they laugh, feel empathy and love them they can carry on, if not they get put in to some kind of machine. Humanity will be saved.
Just found out that I work with someone who doesn't like The Muppets x

Finally got to watch The Holdovers. Everything I want in a film. 2 hours of brilliant company. Made me laugh, cry. Loved it. Christmas classic

RIP Mani. Such iconic bass lines in both bands he served with.

Listened to a 2many DJ's album a mate burned for me many years ago, and it's still not for me. Still mostly sounds like two records being played at the same time. Granted, there are some brilliant mashups of the genre, but most don't hit the mark for me.

It sounds crunchy outside ❄️🌨️

Finally bought Wilco's Cruel Country. It's been impossible to get hold of on CD for a reasonable price. On sale on the Wilco's web site, but p&p made me take a sharp intake of breath!

SST describing landlords as an *industry*.

Soooo what do landlords produce? Nothing. They produce nothing. They do not convert labour or goods to something else and add value.

They are nothing more than middlemen who inflate the cost of housing and skim yields from a human need.

#NowPlaying Tomorrow's Harvest. It's so long since #BoardsofCanada released their last album that I'm starting to think I bought it on 8-track tape.

Although I was a bit nonplussed about the recent Geese album, Cameron Winters solo album is strange and compelling. Totally marmite I suspect and doesn't really sound like his band at all. Gentle and slightly odd. Liking it.

Just replaced the faulty usb on my phone. All very modular and easy, the problem is the board contains the mic and head phone jack. Now the jack is faulty... I think I'll live with it.

I haven't enough time to listen to all the music, radio shows and podcasts I want to. It's a bit distressing.

With Halloween a couple of days away I thought it’d be a good time to repost this series from early this year, where I reimagined a bunch of songs by US alt-rock bands as covers for old horror comics.

I love Wilco, and this list is pretty sound I'd say. The only thing I disagree with is Ode to Joy, but it may be a slow, slow grower.
On this day in 1996, @wilcohq.bsky.social released their second album, Being There. A sprawling set of alt-country, ragged-assed Stones boogies and questing, less generic pieces like Misunderstood, see where it landed in MOJO editor @johnmulvey.bsky.social’s pick of Wilco’s best albums...
Wilco's Best Albums Ranked
MOJO charts the long-playing progress of Jeff Tweedy and co. 10. Kicking Television 9. Cruel Country 8. Wilco (The Album) 7. Ode to Joy
