Folks forget that the ACA *was* the compromise position. It was never full on heal reform so much as health insurance reform, but it was what the political reality of the time permitted.

That said, Medicare for all, and let the shareholders answer to God.

YES. And I say it as someone trained in direct-entry midwifery, attended 200+ births, and was a doula for women who needed extra support. That did not save me from then being mistreated at my own birth.
Please hear me when I say that

1) these anti-medical woo birth movements have been a primary feeder into anti-vaxx eugenic movements

2) they pre-date the age of social media

3) they exist because we have not addressed medical sexism and specifically obstetric violence
Influencers made millions pushing ‘wild’ births – now the Free Birth Society is linked to baby deaths around the world

Every time I have to drive in evening rush hour I am reminded why I schedule my life around avoiding it. I don't care there are too many cars and it's slow: what makes it awful is people turn into assholes and think they're entitled to skip the lines. Your boss is a dick, I get it. Wait your turn.

NEW: A proposed regulation would have denied disability benefits to at least 830,000 older blue-collar workers.

But after reporting from ProPublica and others, the Trump administration has killed the plan.
How the Trump Administration Abandoned Plans for a Major Cut in Disability Benefits for Older Workers
After meeting with advocates, the Trump administration confirmed it has scrapped a controversial regulation that would have cut disability benefits for older workers.

'L'etat, c'est moi' - it's surreal watching Trump deploy language. He is the Country, Americans are white nationalists, 'we won't have a country anymore' means he'll lose power. It's not that insightful but boy is it weird and creepy to watch.

i reiterate my case that the true alpha in any given group is the mum friend with spare pads and cheesy crackers and a mysterious number of packs of wet wipes
Whereas the top wolves are basically just acting like parents and making sure everybody’s got food and letting the cubs crawl all over them.

Honestly, the most wolf-like people around are mom friends and the dads who check your oil and sneak jumper cables into your trunk.

Because of the courage of these survivors, we are one step closer to justice and accountability.

Today, the House and Senate passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

We won’t stop fighting until all women and girls are safe.

I'm not sure what I find more disturbing: discovering that the UK is considering confiscating the few valuables refugees have, or learning that Denmark already enacted such a law, and then carved out an exception for Ukrainian refugees because they're white. www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/de...

Everyone's saying that Epstein's emails are full of 'let's do pedo stuff!' Maybe it's because I expect the worst of powerful men, but outside of 'Trump spent hours with her' and Epstein defending rub and tugs, the emails I've seen aren't that straightforward. Being friends with a known pedophile...

Moral of my story, I think, is: demand pain control. Don't allow anyone to touch you without it.

If they say it takes too long, tough shit. Get pain control. Because if you don't, it will shred your mental health like you wouldn't believe.

The replies to this have me boiling.
I had a uterine biopsy last month and omg it was so painful, I wanted to scream. Afterwards they told me people usually do scream. There is no way they would put men through that pain. Next month I have a colonoscopy and I'm grateful it's something men do too, because it means I get anesthesia.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, they did the tumor biopsy without anesthesia of any kind because "it's real quick."

This thing. 3 inches into my chest. Cutting out flesh chunks.

I screamed myself sick.

Still processing the inanity of this cave, like, "We're going to make Republicans go on record that they want to destroy the ACA." You mean the motherfuckers who radicalized in opposition to it & voted to repeal it, like, 22 times? You're finally getting them on record? Really impressed over here
