my friend Ahmad and his family of 11 need your help. following the ceasefire, ahmad returned to his home in the north of Gaza alone. they can't afford the transportation cost for the rest of their family to move from the south, nor the cost of rebuilding. please support them ❤️‍🩹

Hey, Alaska's been hit by a typhoon and no one is talking about it. Indigenous towns are in need of aid. People are missing and the gov't is still shut down.

If any creators here are in affected areas, please drop links for aid.

queer spaces are so overly racially biased it makes me upset every time.

the lack of boosting black positivity or just interacting with black art is upsetting. black art, people, and characters aren't viewed in the same desirability as white characters.

Hell, she hasn’t acknowledged any of the brutality against protesters done by LAPD and DHS.

Mayor Bass hasn’t commented, nor has she answered my requests for comment about a federal judge finding the LAPD violated state law and the Constitution when they arrested and assaulted journalists covering the protests in June. Meanwhile:

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Even when immigrants are being detained, we see the impact of know your rights information. The family detained at Millenium Park refused to answer questions about their status and also asked for a warrant. Once at Broadview processing center, they also refused to sign a voluntary departure form.

There is a lot of power in knowing your rights to due process. Even when facing injustice and intimidation, this family refused to give up their basic rights and displayed that power in that situation.

General reminder that this also applies to cop narratives about protesters facing federal charges

We all have a responsibility in this moment not to amplify the DHS narrative of events, and racing to publish incomplete info just so there's "something" out isn't actually in service of anyone
unraveledpress.com
One thing we are never going to do is lend immediate credence to police version of events. It's going to take some time for us to piece together what happened here.

We will say we predicted last week their reckless traffic stops could lead to something like this. No satisfaction in being right.
