Thanks to @musinganorak.bsky.social for his considerable help with setting this up. Hope you all find it useful.

Especially with a paper ticket like yours, & even more especially being non resident in BE - I mean how are you supposed to know? I'd be tempted to jump on board & be ready to (justifiably) plead ignorance.

It's not great them changing the rules like this though. They should've left all current tickets with the validity at time of purchase.

I've figured it out - see screenshot from my multi on the app. They've chopped six months' validity from it (should've been valid till July 2026). Thanks guys...😮

I have 8 trips left on mine. We have trips to both Antwerp & Brussels in a couple of weeks' time so I may well just use them up then & be done with it.

Looks like whatever that was has been deleted...

Blimey. Good luck! I have to say, given what you told us just 12 days ago I'm surprised to see you back so soon...especially solo 😮. Anyway hope you get on OK.

Solo trip, or is your travel assistant with you again?

First keg of the 2024 was tapped on 12 October last year, so with a bit of luck it might be quite soon...

Right, I've only just now read @eoghanwalshbxl.bsky.social's reply. He's right - I'm enjoying the choice in places providing both classic & modern. 't Brugs Beertje is a fine example of a place which does both extremely well.

Btw: it’s very confusing but I think you old folk get it for €16?

Many visitors to Belgium will have used bargain half price weekend train tickets. Well, they're being ditched as part of a new 'subscription' model, along with the excellent value 'standard multi' tickets:

As @boakandbailey.bsky.social were saying earlier, the classic Belgian beers in the classic Belgian biercafes are hard to beat 🍻 🇧🇪

C: don't tempt me -:)

B & B: you're not wrong, of course - BUT: much as I love the classics (beers & biercafes alike) there's definitely room for more modern options in BE. I've been embracing & enjoying both classic & modern - though post-Liege I was v happy to return to my classics in Brugge!

It’s a great video, thanks for posting!

That's much noisier than I recall having heard it in the past!
bonsvoeux1.bsky.social
Ah yes I also noted that. I think I might have to try the initial subscription offer to see how it works out.

Looks like they're quietly ditching standard multi tickets, if I've read the (rather confusing) text correctly?

We also went there! What a beautiful place. Hope the opera was good!
