what's going to suck about my ahma's passing is that she was my most direct familial connection to Taiwan. my ahgong always wanted a clean break from Taiwan bc of his trauma, but my ahma would always indulge me when i asked her to teach me Hokkien or tell me stories about Taiwan
she just passed. the fighter in her held on for a week but it was her time. I'm just glad she gave me two last gifts: a chance to say goodbye, and a chance for acceptance. isn't that what we all want from our loved ones passing? closure?

Some grim population statistics from rural areas around Taiwan. Three rural townships reported 0 births in January. Miaoli's Shitan (pop. 3,993) was one of them. This was not a anomaly. Shitan recorded just 15 births last year with 0 last May and June. About 30% 65+.

Here's my report on the KMT's efforts to cut the budget. I mean, it's sheer insanity, budget for gender equality programs would be reduced to 3,000 NT. The budget for the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, and Mainland Affairs Council would be reduced to 1 NT
