For those of us not in the cult, this is what we hear when anyone from the Trump administration speaks.

For the people in the back, this is satire and so well done…

From my perspective? I’d rather universities simply not address the crisis at all unless they are fully committed to removing structural organizational stressors.

I’m exhausted by exhortations to self care and wellness from the same folks who are knowingly amplifying my grinding anxiety.
Any university programming intended to address the massive faculty mental health crisis that does not include investments to remove organizational stressors is bullshit. Faculty are not weak, they’re underwater for structural reasons ffs.

This is a fundamental point that 99% of higher-ed coverage, and 100% of immig coverage, have missed.
A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

In the minds of most Americans, we’ve tended to mythologize the Warren Court as most representative of the Supreme Court, when in truth, for most of our history the Court has ruled against minority rights, upheld the power of wealthy white men, and rarely protected the most vulnerable.

Yes, it’s a bit hard to see now, but allowing the president to become a king who can kidnap citizens while also demolishing the global financial system is a small price to pay for getting to keeping 23 trans women from playing college sports.

NOAA is reportedly on the DOGE chopping block.

The National Weather Service, which is part of NOAA, provides life saving weather forecasting in the US.

A study found that for every $1 invested in NWS, it produces $73 in value to Americans.

Again, this isn't about efficiency.

Whole @marketplace.org show today was interesting and informative, as per usual.

But, please, make a point of hearing final two minutes. Starts at time 26:00 of track you'll find here www.marketplace.org/shows/market...

@kairyssdal.bsky.social gives an example of what needs to be said, and how.
Time to sell! - Marketplace
Many homeowners are done waiting and want to lock in gains. Plus, waiting for fruit and veggie prices to slide.

Ohio’s economy should work for everyone—not just the wealthy. But too many politicians are putting special interests ahead of working families. As Governor, I’ll fight to help Ohioans who are struggling, keep our communities safe, + bring people together to build an Ohio we can be proud of.

174 charged with using weapons or assaulting police.

Think about what this says and means.

It’s unbelievable
President Trump has pardoned 1,500 people who stormed the Capitol four years ago to block his successor from taking office, including 174 charged with using weapons or assaulting police and conspirators who plotted "to oppose by force the lawful transfer of presidential power."
