Excited to join the #IDSky #MedSky party. I’m an adult ID doc and fellowship PD, passionate about all things MedEd and abx stewardship. Deputy editor for OFID journal so always looking for interesting new ID content. I love EBM, think ID docs and pharmDs are the best so let’s connect.

One of my approaches when we have residents/students/pharmD residents is to mention a key article/study and then have one of the trainees (not the busy ID fellow!) review and give a brief summary (3-5 mins) the next day.

Everybody on team learns and find it more engaging.

One of the most controversial diagnoses in ECMO is VAP.

New proposed ECMO-associated pneumonia proposed by UAB:
1) Worsening O2 by flow/sweep changes
2) 🔺 temperature or WBC
3) Pos quantitative BAL or endotracheal aspirate

For my inaugural post, Im proud to announce the publication of our Safer@Home care model. This is going to change how medicine is practiced. No need to admit pts "for IV antibiotics" anymore. Or just for IV diuresis in CHF. Or just for EtOH withdrawal. Etc.
