trump kept promising a new, better healthcare plan "in 2 weeks" every few weeks then said "who knew healthcare cound be so difficult" They never had a healthcare plan then, they don't have one now and they never will, but they are starting the same BS again. That is why I commented the way I did.

Republicans attempted to repeal, modify, or otherwise curb the ACA more than 70 times between its passage in 2010 and late 2017. trump campaigned on it for his first term. They Republicans kept trying to overturn it. John McCain's no vote the last time stopped it. That is why trump hates him. 1/2

Speaker Mike Johnson just extended the House recess through next week, which means members of Congress will keep getting paid for doing nothing while essential staff like members of the military will work without getting paychecks during the shutdown.
That's Republican leadership.

Thune knows they can use the nuclear option to pass the bill and reopen the government. They used it a few weeks ago to get a block of Republicans confirmed. If they do that they can't blame the Democrats for the shutdown and point to them as the reason the ACA tax credits were not renewed though.
