like in order to report people for saying slurs during games I'm supposed to enter the match id? stupid.
brobuntu.bsky.social
"enter the share code for the relevant match below to help us quickly review potential negative behavior"

this is the dumbest fucking decision any videogame has ever made in any of their moderation ever lmao Marvel Rivals and Netease what the heck are you even doing

This misinformation post containing an AI generated video, claiming a reporter got arrested for covering ice is getting traction, it's been up for like 5 hours and it's still up.
Screenshot of a bluesky post by Jenn Budd (@jennbudd.bsky.social) of an AI video with Jenn's caption: "Seems like they are going after reporters who are women. They hit one w/pepper spray ammo in her car, the WGN reporter and now this." The screenshot is a still of a female reporter with three arms, two behind her back, one holding a microphone in front of her, staring off in the distance as she is arrested by officers, all but one of whom are off screen, the one behind her is also staring off in a direction off camera.

if this becomes a thing I'm going to have a whole new set of muted terms

@eff.org thanks for keeping me informed to contact my representatives over such broad sweeping regulation that will directly affect my personal safety and the future of the internet!
a screenshot (in italian) of a search on bluesky to see if the electronic frontier foundation (eff.org) has posted anything including the string 1043, showing no results

The second it's clearly a piece exchange puzzle or simple capture instead of a mate-in-n, my adrenaline goes off rn. "am I missing something"

I keep staring at the +2 and +3 results nervously worried about losing like 25 on my next solution, lol

the old system had inflation issues, sure, but it also had a median of ~500. So the update feels like they either completely shoved everyone into that ~1400-median curve from above or completely uplifted everyone who was low rank to the 1400 area

Italian localizations normally would represent "one thousand and one quarter" as "1.000,25"

the idea of the changes is cool but this distribution is wild-- I feel like most people got placed at ~1490 when the change went into effect. My phone is in italian so confusingly chess.com renders the period incorrectly as both the decimal and the thousands separator.
a screenshot of the chess.com leaderboard showing next to no one at 500 rating, a graph of player distributions that resembles a somewhat poisson or normal distribution with a median around ~1400, rapidly converging to the x axis by 2500 onward. underneath it lists an average rating of 1410.56; an average Glicko RD of 73.39; an average number of attempts of 68,868; an average success rate of 64%; a total number of players of 10,113,511; and a total number of attempts of 16,626,776,907.

I mean the reasons make sense. I just am probably going to freak out and drop doing chess puzzles when I get too many wrong in succession, though

Anyone know how to add syntax highlighting to batcat or delta for html.eex files? Vim works fine with it #elixir #PhoenixFramework
a screenshot of a fuzzy crt-style linux terminal. It features the output of a program called batcat, which is supposed to show syntax highlighting, but in the case of this extension by the Phoenix Framework of html with elixir, it does not. On the top line you can see the file name: index.html.eex, below this there are two sections, on the left is a thin section with line numbers, and on the right are the lines of code. The code is as follows:
<h1> Listing Users </h1>

<table>
  <%= for user <- @users do %>
    <tr>
      <td><%= render "user.html", user: user %></td>
      <td><%= link "View", to: Routes.user_path(@conn, :show, user.id) %></td>
    </tr>
  <% end %>
</table>
