This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

I finally got a zucchini fruit! (Still no male flowers). The cross pollination from the donated pumpkin flowers seems to working

The post is for Webworm members, but I want to sneak this point from behind the wall (sorry David) because I think a lot of adults don't understand what social media is to today's young people.

A social media ban aims to separate kids from their communities.
For Gen X readers perhaps it’s worth comparing it to our own childhood experience. Imagine if the Prime Ministers of the late-80s and early-90s — David Lange, Geoffrey Palmer, Mike Moore (although he wouldn’t have had time) or Jim Bolger — had banned under-16s from hanging out with their mates at the mall, main street or local park. Or perhaps instituted a strict five-minute maximum of phone calls between teens? For readers of an earlier generation… I don’t actually know. Maybe if Keith Holyoake had banned youngsters from milkbars or enacted a no-teens in the woolshed policy? I really didn’t listen to the stories my dad told me about his youth. The point is that social media isn’t just some abstract time-wasting distraction for young people the way it is for so many of us. It is literally their social life. This isn’t a bell we can un-ring. Wax on all you like about how the youth of today don’t know how good they’ve got it, or how “in my day” we used to make plans to meet with each other. The world has changed. Young people have changed.

The good thing about having a gardening group at work is that I can post something like "my zucchini is only growing female flowers! Help!" And someone will bring me a bag of male flowers from their garden
