No worries - I appreciate the credit! Glad to see the technique making the rounds again so more folks can learn about it for the first time.

Before creating For You I actually built a link-focused personalized feed Links For You.

It uses the same algorithm but:
- it only looks at posts with links
- it groups all posts with the same link to avoid showing different posts that have the same link

Feedback welcome!

This is Boksil. She is reaching levels of cozy previously unheard of. 12/10 a trailblazer (IG: with_bokdanji)
a small cream colored dog stares up at us. this is Boksil, swaddled in a grey robe, and tucked underneath a thick blanket on a bed. her little paws poke out of the robe's sleeves, and her toe beans are in full view. her tiny pink tongue mlems from her grinning mouth. a higher angle of Boksil. a small yellow pillow rests beside her for scale, and her eyes are closed peacefully as she rests swaddled under a white blanket, looking very cozy.

While Zach has been a great promoter of this technique, I'm the one who developed it while we worked together at JLL. (there was going to be a mandate for overlays, and i hated the idea of maintaining powerpoint files). I've got a blog post walking through this as well! medium.com/@brittanyros...
Create a dashboard overlay — ENTIRELY in Tableau
No Figma? No problem. Build an overlay using native features — no powerpoint, images, or advanced techniques needed.

This is Denni. She took an unexpected babysitting shift when she found a baby koala in her yard. She cheerfully delivered the joey to her human, who put them back in the tree to be reunited with their mom. 14/10 (FB: Steve Lamplough)
Denni, a golden retriever with a sweet face, sits and looks up at the camera with a smile. she has a passenger clinging to her back. a baby koala. the joey's eyes peak over the top of Denni's head. Denni is standing and looking off to the left of the frame. the baby koala on her back looks at the camera. a super zoomed photo of the baby koala and their mom high up in a tree. the adult koala holds onto her joey and looks down at the camera with what we would like to think is appreciation for caring for her baby.

Please use alt text when posting illustrations or photos or other images. I realize it feels like an inconvenience if you didn't ever do it at the other place, but folks who need it are a zillion times more inconvenienced every single day.

“But the frustrated and humiliated intellectual, the rich and scared speculator, the spoiled son, the labor tyrant, the fellow who has achieved success by smelling out the wind of success—they would all go Nazi in a crisis.”

Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.

The revised design enables readers to analyze #data unobstructedly, as the metric lines are placed in juxtaposition. The line segmentation and yrly average lines facilitate the detection of seasonality at both mthly & yrly levels.

Thanks, @brrosenau.bsky.social, for inspiring the viz format.

Screenshot of Kevin Wee's Tableau Public viz, entitled Dual-Pane Cycle Plot(ish): Comparing Two Metrics at Monthly and Yearly levels. The viz contains two charts, both showing the same two metrics: (1) A typical dual-axis chart with a line overlapping a bar in the same coordinate, and (2) A dual-pane segmented line chart. In the latter design, the two metrics are placed in juxtaposition, segmented by year and supplemented with yearly average lines.
