Famous for her roles in 70s Blaxploitation movies "Coffy" and "Foxy Brown, Pam Grier also worked as a singer. When she was a student at UCLA, she sang backup for Bobby Womack.

She's also the 1st actress to play DC comics character Amanda Waller (Smallville) in live-action.

1981, Dr. Alexa Irene Canady was the 1st Black American woman to become a neurosurgeon. She was also the 1st woman & Black person to enroll in Yale-New Haven Hospital's surgical internship.

Her medical work encouraged more minorities to pursue work in surgical fields.

Hazel Scott was a jazz pianist & singer. In 1950, she became the 1st Black American to host her own TV show. She used her influence to demand better standards for Black people in film, from characters to wardrobe. She also demanded non segregated audiences for her shows.

1967 Pittsburgh, Freedom House Ambulance Service is the 1st emergency medical service in the US, staffed by paramedics with training (32 week, 300 hour course) well beyond first aid.

The all-black staff set standards that are still used worldwide for medical services.

The 761st battalion, aka Black Panthers, were the 1st black tank squad to see combat in WWII. They held 391 decorations for heroism, fought through Nazi Germany to open a way for Patton's troops & liberated a concentration camp.

I've had a promotional VHS for the test animation that became Batman: The Animated Series for a long time, I bought it on eBay in like...1999? The version they put as a bonus on the DVD said they lost the audio but uh, here it is. You're welcome Bruce Timm.
