As somebody who only has an approximate knowledge of the extended Metroid lore, it really feels like Sylux is the result of Nintendo wanting a major, long-term villain but having zero idea of how to establish him as a meaningful character in the series.

The first time I heard of Baroque, I thought it was one of those fake videogames. The kind that are meant to make you wonder how such a weird game could play and make you want to play it.
I didn't know it was real and seeing footage of it and the story I still can't believe it's real.
