When I saw DB Superhero with my now wife, bro at the front desk was acting shocked that she was with me to watch an anime movie. Even tried to “quiz” her by asking her favorite character.

Not that church counseling, either. Folks hear “love, honor, obey” and don’t consider “will they hold me while I vomit from chemo” or “will they decide cheating is OK cuz we can’t conceive” cuz somehow we’re supposed to pretend that the statistics don’t matter.
I think real, legitimate premarital counseling would go a long way in preventing unwanted marriages.

It took me a while to figure out exactly *why* I'd react defensively in different scenarios out of pure habit.
Turns out I was getting jumped by a combination of religious trauma, undiagnosed AuDHD, and purity culture. There's a lot I went through that I thought was normal, therapist was like “nah”

Not aimed at OP, but I always found it funny how Breezewood gets dunked on when it’s just a glorified truck stop; legit just gas, bathrooms, and food.
