One of our teammates came up and said to J "Aw, no [dead name] tonight?"
They hadn't recognized me and I was still basically in boy mode

I think I just figured out why I fell off in my MST3K fandom
I think a lot of the quality of older MST3K came from having seen these weird movies on TV as a kid, so they were familiar enough to mock. Now they just keep churning out content over four different sub brands and go for easier jokes

ICYMI last night, I nearly offed myself at age 15 trying to beat Battletoads
1991 - I'm 15 years old, Battletoads just came out and it's Labor Day weekend. A 12 pack of Jolt later I still hadn't beaten the game, but I *did* get hospitalized with what turned out to be the worst caffeine headache they've ever seen.

$260(!!!) for 5 GI Joe scale figures and two small vehicles. No wonder they only got 10% funded.
HasLab TRON ended at 1,386. This number is probably 6-7 levels of funny if you kept up with Intel processors in the pre-internet era.

The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

The revelation in Picard S3 that the holodecks were officially being used as a distraction room when ships were going down and death was imminent was one of the most dire things ever to happen in Trek.
My hottest Star Trek take is that they should court martial whoever decided that holodecks should have an independent power supply that can't be rerouted to essential systems (like life support or even replicators) in an emergency.
