I mean I think it literally doesn't mean anything to anyone living or yet to be born. 1) It's all denominated in dollars, which the U.S. mints; 2) it's debt we owe to ourselves, 3) you could also look at it as an investment, like a mortgage, and 4) a lot of it is just from under-taxation.
