My congressional rep spoke at a local Dems event last night about her recent trip to an ICE detention facility where she shared stories of frightful abuse and even (and she really stressed this) sexual assault, then immediately pivoted to "ICE does necessary work" and lamenting the "few bad apples."

One time, a few years back, I was framed for a crime I did not commit. Around the same time, I was exonerated for a crime I *did* commit, so it all evened out. Legally, this is known as an "Ipsy-Doodle."

In better old comics news, just learned a few days ago that there was a prequel miniseries to Ralph Bakshi's "Cool World" featuring the great @stephendestefano.bsky.social on breakdowns and pencils (Bill Wray inking the second issue). Every panel is a revelation.

Read 'em. Terrible, maybe the worst superhero comics I've ever read, practically incompetent, unecessary, tawdry. And the portions? Enormous. I was feasting. Wretched, but ambitious and, more importantly, with its head stuck way up its own ass. Tommy Wiseau's The Room for capes and cowls. 400 stars.
Couldn't resist these at the library sale, three bucks, a pristine pair of Doomsday Clock collections, a book I am positive is going to be absolutely fucking stupid and I can't wait. Whoever donated these never even read 'em. I opened one up in the lobby and the spine cracked so hard a kid cried.
