Sorry, man, but the truth is that "OROWEAT" used to have an "H" in it and Yaldabaoth is to blame.

Speaking just for myself, no single scene among cinema's vast tapestry has ever affected me as deeply as did the sudden and easy-to-miss on-screen murder of Bowen Yang's "Pfannee" in the film Wicked 1.

Knew a young woman who hated the Beatles, which is fine as far as I'm concerned, but her complaint was always that they were "overrated" and this would drive me nuts. Don't like 'em, fine, but there's no band more appropriately-rated than the Beatles. They're rated exactly right. Spot-on rating.
Oh please. It was cool to hate the Beatles for about six seconds in 1977. Glen Matlock - Beatles fan - is mostly the reason the Sex Pistols hung together. Lydon & Strummer are Lennon fans. Bowie & Iggy adore the Beatles. Hating the Beatles has never caught on anywhere, among anybody.
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.

30% chance he does an Obama, 40% he's scuppered by private interests, 60% chance he underdelivers. Those numbers look better than most.

E.g. I always say people who quote tweet themselves in conversations are weird:
I can't begin to imagine the pathology behind people who quote-tweet themselves in conversations.

The job of a politician - who may or may not himself be despicable - is to deal with despicable people & get all he can from them. Mamdani has passed the first test.

(This is the second Nancy cameo in Gordo, the first being this strip from 1952)
Some of the comic strips which were significant influences on Arriola as a working cartoonist included Fontaine Fox's Toonerville Folks, Al Capp's Li'l Abner, Walt Kelly's Pogo and Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy, the latter of which earns a cameo in this self-referential strip from February 10, 1952.
