I’ve posted this before but the light was perfect today- a little Victorian cat paw in a brick at the front of the old Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. As this is on the front-facing corner of the main gates, the bricklayer quite clearly put it there on purpose, at a height where children would spot it.

This update includes information you may find upsetting. Please take care when reading. From today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce trans girls will no longer be able to join Girlguiding. This is a decision we would have preferred not to make, and we know that this may be upsetting for members of our community. There will be no immediate changes for current young members, but more information will be shared soon. Most adult roles - including unit helpers, district helpers and administrative support - are already open to all, so we are confident that no volunteers will have to leave the organisation. Girlguiding believes strongly in inclusion, and we will continue to support young people and adults in marginalised groups. Over the next few months, we will explore opportunities to champion this value and actively support young people who need us. We stand in solidarity with trans girls and women.

Looking mischievous, she leans in more closely to the reader to say, "Because the unity that body hair brings... Is far more valuable to me!" "Your unibrow is cuuuuute." Tess's current girlfriend coos, teasingly squishing herself against Tess from behind. Her girlfriend has short dark green hair, a black t-shirt, and an earring of a silver cross. Her skin is a lighter peach color from Tess's. "Aww!" Tess teases flirtily back. Later on in a store at the checkout, the person working the register throws their arms in the air exclaiming, "HEY! You're like me! You're a furry girl!" "Whw-hw?" Gulps Tess, startled. "Your arm hair?" The cashier asks, holding her own hairy forearm up. "We're furry!" Tess looks at her own hairy forearm in surprise and then with happy conviction she exclaims back, "We're furry!!" Outside a couple from the other side of the street stop so one person can shout out, "HEY! Are you mixed Puerto Rican?" From Tess's side of the street, she startles, asking, "LITERALLY how did you...?" "We are too!" The stranger calls. "It's the arm hair!" "Huh!" Tess marvels, looking at her forearm. "Weird!!" Narration: Sometimes... Tess continues walking confidently, admiring her hairy arms and legs. Narration: That kind of weird and unexpected connection is just what I need.
