No drawing today, and possibly not tomorrow either, the week is ending very busy with work. Maybe I can catch up over the weekend

And I’d like to get better at it!

It’s a style that I really love as well

I wish I didn’t make so many avoidable mistakes, like straighter lines and rows etc. I don’t notice I’m going askew until it has already happened. I don’t mind some organic feeling but mistakes are mistakes

#Fantasmicalloween Day 9: The Heebie Jeebies

That feeling when you’re watching a horror movie in a dark room and suddenly feel like there may be someone else in the room with you. You might be right.

#Drawlloween
A sketchbook page showing a drawing done with fountain pen and ink.

In an Edward Gorey style, a couple on a couch facing away watches the movie Scream on a large TV above a fireplace. A tall long-black-haired ghost leans over them creepily.

Inks used: Highland Smoke and Algonquin Maple from Ferris Wheel Press.

Fantasmicalloween Day 8: Ghost Train Conductor
A haunted-looking train conductor holding a lantern in the night air, his eyes glowing orange, standing in front of a skull fronted ghost train. Prompt list with giant friendly Jack-o-lantern art by Rhode Montijo!

He had him in the first half…

#Fantasmicalloween Day 8: Ghost Train Conductor

I know there’s no conductor in this, that’s an engineer, but I really wanted to design a ghost train locomotive. I found this one super fun to work on!

A glowing green train locomotive seen from the front, covered in spooky details and unnecessary spikes and such. A skeleton engineer leans out of a side window.

Inks used: The Farewell Poem of Yesterday and The Thorn Songs of Crown from Kitty Inkpot.

#Fantasmicalloween Day 7: Pumpkin Home for Mice

I went pretty literal on this prompt. I tried for a children’s book style but maybe my style is childish. I’ve never actually drawn mice before and I think the results are mixed. I like the front-facing one even though the nose smeared.

#Drawlloween

Two white mice trick-or-treat in ghost and vampire costumes at the pumpkin home of a third white mouse who is giving out candy while wearing a witch hat.

Inks used: Lustrous Gem, Azure Green, and Light Mauve from Ostrich Ink, Autumn in Auburn, Hearty Harvest, Pumpkin Orange, Book of Botany, Sad Charade, Fluttering Heart, and April Showers from Ferris Wheel Press.

#Fantasmicalloween Day 6: Monster Trap

The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia has managed to trap a monster inside a circle of magical standing stones. I struggled with an idea for this, and decided to do it roughly and leave it like that. My most sketchy pass was done in grey-ish ink.

A very rough and sketchy drawing showing the Witcher fighting a giant centipede monster. It’s trapped behind two visible standing stones with magical purple gems in them. His back is to us.

Inks used: Dream Floating Bridge from Fanyantan, Sugar and Spite from Ferris Wheel Press, black lines are always Platinum Carbon Black.

#Fantasmicalloween Day 5 : Vintage Halloween Animation Character

Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud, or just Mr. Moundshroud is the antagonist from the 1993 animated film ‘The Halloween Tree’, written by Ray Bradbury. I’m very fond of it! I’m making myself vintage by calling it vintage.

#Drawlloween

The character Mr. Moundshroud from the animated movie ‘The Halloween Tree’. He’s finely dressed, including a cape with a red lining. He’s holding a pumpkin (or a Pipkin, which has a child’s face carved on it because it hold’s their soul).

Inks used: Cat At Dusk from Ink Institute, Death of Ivan Ilyich from Wearingeul, Whale Shark Grey from Anderillium, Autumn in Auburn and Plaited Gold Tress from Ferris Wheel Press, Farewell Poem of Yesterday and Eternal Moon from Kitty Inkpot, Vampire Pigeon and Central Park Twilight from Robert Oster.

to be honest I've always found it kinda fun to end up being a little bit crappy at whatever I try to do... Takes a lot of pressure off, and I feel like everyone can tell when you're doing something just for the love of the game
