🚨 We’re launching #RepairNotRetreat.

When the UK cuts aid, people lose access to care — especially communities hit by climate shocks, debt and fragile systems.

It’s time for justice-led repair: long-term, people-first financing.

This policy is a paradox.
Mandatory volunteering? This policy is a paradox.

Forcing people to volunteer would:

❌ Undermine everything that makes volunteering so valuable
❌ Harm survivors of trafficking & modern slavery
❌ Discriminate against those who can't volunteer

Today is the 4th anniversary of the worst ever tragedy in the Channel.

At least 27 men, women & children drowned in the freezing water, & 4 more have never been found.

Since then, neither we nor the French have done a thing to offer people in this situation with real solutions.

The ‘ceasefire’ serves a strategic purpose for Israel/US.

It enables the colonial decimation of Palestine to continue away from the world’s prying eyes.

That’s why it’s in place.

🌱 Indigenous leaders at #COP30 are showing what real climate and health leadership looks like.

Those closest to the impact have the solutions — but too often the least power and resources to adapt.

Our campaign launches Monday.

It’s time to #RepairNotRetreat.

Single most successful coverage event I've had as press officer @keepournhspublic.bsky.social was presenting our findings from The People's Covid Inquiry - chaired by Michael Mansfield KC.

They reflected what was officially found today. Neither inquiry has the power to prosecute. Mores the pity.

A bleak week for refugee rights.
On both sides of the Channel.

France will start using nets to 'block the propellors' of small boats.

Amid perilous seas and freezing temperatures, these tactics seem designed to cause deaths.

‘Moving illegal migrants into military bases’

The same bases that saw outbreaks of diphtheria, TB and scabies? Where suicidal ideation and self-harm are common?

Why are you rejoicing in this?

(Plus it’s a dangerous lie to label people in hotels as ‘illegal migrants’)

SO important.

Britain is even more obliged to support refugees due to the havoc it wreaked - and continues to wreak - through its imperial project.

This cannot be left out of the narrative.

Well that's a new one.

We're all too familiar with Western media's persistent use of 'Hamas-run health ministry' over the past two years (to cast doubt over death tolls, legitimise attacks on hospitals etc).

But BBC have even gone with 'Hamas-appointed mayor'.

How can the same Government that shouts from the rooftops about how refugees must 'integrate' then turn around and make refugees ‘permanently temporary’?

PS ‘integrate’ itself is a problematic term. It implies conditional belonging and serves as an internal border.

Never mind the performative cruelty & the stupidity of announcing “changes” which aren’t actually changes, there has obviously been no real analysis on how any of this will actually work. People having their status reviewed & potentially revoked every 2.5yrs for up to 20yrs -

This is a new low from a govt plumbing the depths of performative cruelty in hopes that the public won’t notice they have no answers to the real issues facing this country

A sensible, humane govt would focus on safe routes to prevent people making dangerous small boat crossings

I truly can’t get over the optics of this.

People fleeing the legacy of Britain’s colonial plunder will have their jewellery and valuables taken upon arrival in the colonial metropole.

Wow.

This comes as no surprise.

Britain, the coloniser and destabiliser of the globe, decrees:

“The era of permanent protection for refugees is over.”

Wow, Labour. You’ve really outdone yourselves here.
Refugee status isn’t a ‘golden ticket’, nor is it time sensitive. It is a human right.

Today, the Home Secretary will roll out drastic changes to refugee protections. Here is our reaction.

Leaving aside the obvious injustice and abdication of humanitarian responsibilities, it will be interesting to see how racialised this move is.

Will Ukrainian refugees be denied permanent settlement? Or just the 'undesirable' refugees?
