For Cameron's birthday why not buy yourself a present of his wildly enjoyable fantasy The Maleficent Seven, which I described as "if grimdark was fun"

My husband read THE LAST SHIELD and enjoyed it so much he got a copy for his brother
It's my birthday!
As such, I'd like you to consider leaving a book review or preordering one - doesn't have to be one of mine. It really helps authors out.
Also, here is a photo of John Dee's obsidian scrying mirror, which I found cool.

It's Cameron Johnston's birthday! Celebrate by leaving a review for any book by any author that you enjoyed or even by placing a pre-order for a book you know you're going to buy anyway.

Both these things REALLY help authors in the current market.

In London for work and wandering and my train trip was brightened up by reading Deep Black by @phokion.bsky.social . Smart and characterful space opera, just the way I like it.

Anyway, uh, my book is also called The Shape of Monsters, but it's book 1 and came out in 2025.

Book 2, A Million Points of Light, will be out in February 2026.

Despite this image, it is not YA ;)

First Mage On The Moon is about ready to go to the printers and I'm half-done writing my next novel, with another sat waiting for a second pass & polish and a bit of a rethink on some aspects.

I'm keeping busy!

With First Mage On The Moon all finished, it's time to delve back into the writing of all new things. I love the discovery of a cool new twist I hadn't planned on. *rubs hands in glee*

Project Hanuman is here. I hope you'll take a look as I think it's a pretty good space opera - no hero's journey here - this is about community, how we build back better and, of course, mind bending space battles in sentient ships.

Aw man, my first 5* rating of First Mage On The Moon seems to have been removed by Goodreads. And it was from the very, 100% real Sarah J. Maas located in [My country or city]. Totes legit and not AI-generated scammery 🙄😂
