Idea for a new horror novel:

We follow the protagonist, a writer, who is trying to get traditionally published. Existential and psychological terror ensues.

Working title for one of my next books (yes, next BOOKS. Can't quite decide on the next project and things might change on that front!).

Can you take a guess at the subgenres for 'Deep Into That Darkness Peering'?

From a review of Magic, Maps, and Mischief.

Yes, I have an agenda. It's to make marginalised people feel welcome and included however I can.

Today I saw someone arguing on a Lord of the Rings Reddit that Tolkien would have "appreciated" AI.

I was once told that this book - Magic, Maps, and Mischief - written by an autistic person about the autistic experience, did nothing new.

I didn't agree, and put it down to people judging worth differently.

1,600 sales later since October 24th, I'm glad people agree with me ❤️

I saw @kaylaallen1965.bsky.social post this on Farcebook, and it is kind of my job to do this sort of thing. Please do check the thread to see if a question has been answered before asking it.

Just to clarify - and everyone engaging with this has been lovely - but my main issue with this is marketing the book from a place of "this is against all the things you HATE about X".

Romantasy writers and readers are great. Other stories are, too. Romance is a part of nearly EVERY story.
This week, I was sent a proof from one of the big publishers. In their pack, they described it as an "anti romantasy".

An anti romantasy.

I have so many thoughts about this, I honestly don't know where to begin.

Ollie after asking me if I had any girlfriends before getting married and being told yes.

"You have to admit, you've been quite the Casanova."

Ah, the audiobook of Project Hanuman is now available for pre-order. Zehra Jane Naqvi is the narrator and I think really brings the entire story alive.

I acquired this novel a while ago, and it's a stunning read - it's so clever, and intimate, and downright scary. It was brilliant when I first read it, but with the edits Rhiannon worked through it, it's just amazing. And Katie Klim produced the most perfect cover ❤️
