Seeing as we're having a 🌈SUPER GAY DAY🌈, I made a promo post for my profile. All links to independent outlets are in the alt text (or sail the Big River if it suits).

Featuring my British Fantasy Award winning story "Morta" and three shortlisted anthologies.

All gay. All slay. All day. 🏳️‍🌈☠️📚💙
Almost a hundred loans in UK libraries of "The Dust of the Red Rose Knight" last year.

Is that good? Tbh I didn't even realise it was in the library system.

But it's always good to get Arthurian smut out into the world.

New scene written and edited. It's been a productive week.

Today I return home to wrap up some business and basically yearn to return here in two weeks for a longer stay!

Please, never be shy telling an author you loved their books.

It’s seriously what gets us through.

It's the whinge of winter.
I see it’s that time of the month when everyone starts asking when certain authors are going to release books that are way overdue (in their opinion). The answer is never. It’s never happening, read something else.

I want the "interesting times" curse.

The dumb one is boring.

Further questionable, self-justifying discourse.

This isn't a queer thing. It's called "the human condition" ffs.

I'll admit I only kept watching Star Trek: Academy because of Sandro Rosta's butt in those tight grey pants.

Bite me.

Another editing jag this afternoon. You can always tell a great editor when you can see what they mean and it ends up enhancing the novel. Bringing one to fruition is a team effort and I always appreciate that fact.

Even if I sob.

NVidia chief creep says resistance and scorn for AI have done a lot of harm. Good. Nice confirmation it's working. Keep it up. Although the main thing is this stuff is harmful crap so the mind and body tend to revolt against it automatically.

Job interview with the main boss went great! Picked up some classes here in Feb.

It's not urgent. But I miss teaching.

GNoH NEEDS YOU.

Last year, certainly the first half was a washout for me, but after getting proper psychiatric help, I am back with a reviewing vengeance.

And GNoH needs more reviewers. If you'd like to volunteer your services, please drop me an email (jimmcleod(at)gnofhorror.com)

The sea air is obviously working. Two new opening chapters written, edited and the transition into the rest revised.

Onwards!

Got a job interview here tomorrow as well.

I deliberate and dither like no one else, but when I make a decision, I move fast. 👍🏻

I see "the discourse" is now proposing that there is "equality" in gay male relationships.

How to put this? Gay male relationships are just relationships, the same as any other. TY.

I'm stoked. I persuaded the owner of this little casa to rent it to me through Feb. I told him I needed somewhere quiet to work on my novel. It's perfect.

He came back this morning and offered it to me at *half price*

Nice man!

Difficult chapter finished!

And the best thing is I thought I had a bit more to do. Then I wrote a paragraph and just went, "Yeah what more needs to be said?"

👌🏻

Researching the smell of lightning this morning, which I think you'll agree would make a fine title for a fantasy novel.

Pretty sure that this is the hardest chapter I've ever written. It's hard to *add* stuff to a completed novel, particularly at the beginning when you've established everything. But hard chapter is happening.
