An ancient structure is ankered above woodlands in a circle of standing stones, a treck of pilgrims can be seen approaching through a clearing a sort of gathering site directly underneath. The Structure rises above the clouds into the nights sky, in the upper levels, back lit by a galaxy, lights can be seen in some windows. but surely no one can live up there? A procession arriving at an invisble gate between two obsidian pillars, storns and watching crows around. n the foreground a backlight figure seems to be studying a huge orb that hangs in the air like a planet, averything is bathed in light and dark and mist and all around levitate more spheres of different sizes. In a red storm under a blue sun, two mongs aproach a standing stone, their heads bowed.

The design of the page features a parchment style background with painterly splashes of blues, reds, and purples overlayed with cropped and blended shapes of "sacred geometry".

The fishes took pity on her, and under the full moon they turned her into a mermaid. Then the once fearsome warrior... apparently decided to sit on a rock, brush her hair and sing (and lure and drown men) like European sirens, hah.

I'm always low on storage and got a new HD last year that nuked itself one month in, as soon as I temporary moved some archived stuff to it to make room. 🥲

Something I had no idea is this fun to draw until I tried are beards and moustaches! The bushier the more interesting they are to render. 😆

Her dark straight hair is loose and thrown to the side, giving her a relaxed look. 4) A serious Black man staring intently at the viewer. He's got a moustache, closely-cropped hair and kind eyes. 5) A teenager looking into the distance. Her large doe eyes give her an appearance of innocence. She's fat with full cheeks. Her hair falls onto her shoulders in luxurious curls and she's also sporting short bangs. Page two: 1) An older man almost in profile. He's clad in a military uniform complete with epaulettes. His hair is light or graying, and he's got a moustache. 2) A smiling woman in profile. She's got a classic 1900s chignon and is wearing a white dress. 3) Iron Tail (Siŋté Máza), an Oglala Lakota Chief and performer with Buffalo Bill's Wild West. Ack, I keep forgetting to post artwork! Hue practice from the end of last year. Gray shifts suit this skin tone exceptionally well.

Not long ago I was asking about how to better communicate I didn't want people reuploading my work elsewhere, including Pinterest.

One of my concerns were services changing their TOS to train on or sell that work. Pinterest didn't at the time, but I had my suspicions.

Guess what they just did?

Pencil sketches from 04/2024. Some photos I took aren't great, but the people are!

He was the Japanese envoy to Great Britain in 1862. He's wearing traditional Japanese wearing hair and clothing, complete with what seems to be a katana to his side. 5) An older man in 3/4, with graying hair and moustache. He has an air of dignity around him. Page 2: 1) A Black man in 3/4. He has a long face and is very serious. 2) A young woman in 3/4. She's wearing a large white bow on her collar, has curly hair in a low bun and seems to have some Latin heritage. 3) A woman in profile. Her wavy hair is arranged in a classic and elegant 1900s bun. 4) A modern hanfu model. She's actually wearing a qipao, a style introduced in the 20th, inspired by Manchu fashion. She's looking off camera and has a slightly stern expression.

Oct 2024 art. I used the itch to paint sparkly glossy critters to try out the transform tool and new brushes in Krita.

I didn't plan to make an entire art poster (though my wall thanks me) and initially had a fish doing a flip in the middle. It looked like everyone was shocked he was dead. 😂

An impasto-like technique was employed for the background, inspired by the works of J. C. Leyendecker. 1. A small silvery fish, no species in particular. 2. Small Silver Forage. It's silvery and long. 3. Silver Carp Fish. It's dark greenish on the top, with a cream belly and punk highlights on the head and fins. 4. Female Betta fish. It's hue shifts from dark purple to green-blue. 5. Neon fish. It's tiny, long, translucent with electric blue and red stripes. 6. Red Tail Shark. It's small, dark with a bright orange tailm a bit elongated and has the whiskers of a catfish. 7. Japanese eel. It's dark and sinuous and glossy. 8. Mono Fish. Round but not exactly thin, spadefish-shaped, small and very cute, cream color with bright yellow fins. 9. Zebra Pleco. Shaped like a catfish, but with diagonal black stripes on a white body. 10. Java Barb. It's flat and round, but with pointy orange fins. Silvery with a pink undertone. 11. Male Betta fish. It's red with the vaguest hints of blue in the edges of its veil-like fins. 12. Barramundi. Stocky fish, dark on the top with a cream, slightly orangeish belly. This one bright has blue highlights because I liked the effect how the reflections in a photo looked like a pattern. 13. Mackerel. It's light blue with darker blue stripes, more on the green side than red on the color wheel. It's belly is cream/silvery. 14. Longfin Batfish. Blue with yellow fins and a two subtle darker stripes on the head. 15. Arowana. It's large with larger scales of a dark color with a lighter rim. It has catfish whiskers. Oops, forgot to post pencil sketches this week! Pages from my second sketchbook, 08/2023.

He's got a dark beard and medium skin tone. 3) A young woman of seemingly Black heritage. Her hair is curly and dark, arranged in a low plain chignon, and she's wearing a white dress. 5) A sherpa from 1957, Tibet. She's smiling at the camera, and wears full traditional garb. Page two: 1) A girl from Jaipur, late 1800s India. She's balancing a huge metallic water container on her head as she stares quietly at the camera. Her nose jewelry has been painted in gold acrylic. 2) A Tuareg Beber warrior from 1900s. He's got a sword over his chest, and the lower half of his stern face is covered by the fabric of his headpiece, which is a combination a plain dark color fabric and a light striped top fabric. 3) An Bulgarian elderly man from 1921. He's got a very long white beard and serious expression, squinting under the glare of the sun. He was the cook of a monastery. 4) A Bulgarian woman from a little earlier than 1970. She's in full traditional clothing, with golden details.

I though it'd be funny to paint a guy with a vaguely modern hairstyle in fantasy-ish clothing, but when I was stuck painting fur it no longer seemed that clever. 😅

I experimented with new approaches to references usage this weekend because it always looks so boring and stiff, and accidentally discovered I really like ballpoint pen style sketching, which is funny because I'm scared of traditional pens.
