I absolutely love pecan pie! I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie at all, although I'd prefer pumpkin pie over, and I admit to never trying this one, that Mountain Dew Baja Blast pie that Taco Bell is or was selling. I like drinking the beverage Mountain Dew Baja Blast, but the pie idea sounds awful.
So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:

1. Pecan: Always good

2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.

3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Bottom line:

The Pentagon’s actions break long-standing democratic norms.

And they send a dangerous message to veterans and the country as a whole.

A healthy democracy requires a military that stays professional, lawful, and above politics.

And to be clear:
Nothing in the video encouraged breaking the law or disobeying lawful orders.

It simply reminded service members of their duty not to follow illegal ones.
That’s standard military ethics — not sedition.

The threat isn’t just to Sen. Kelly.
It’s to the millions of retirees still technically under military jurisdiction — and to every future veteran who wants to serve in public office without having their military status used against them.

It also risks harming the military itself.

The U.S. military’s greatest strength is its nonpartisan character.
Service members must trust that the chain of command is not being used for political payback.

Blurring that line weakens morale, discipline, and public confidence.

The law does allow retirees to be recalled to active duty.
But this is normally used for things like:

filling manpower shortages;
addressing serious crimes;
NOT punishing someone for speaking about the Constitution

Recalling a sitting U.S. Senator over speech would be unprecedented.

In the United States, we do not use the military to intimidate or punish political opponents.

That’s a bright line in our democracy — and it exists to protect all of us.

Jasmine Crockett is right.

I'll also add that MTG's resignation takes effect only a day or two after she becomes eligible for a congressional pension. MTG was only in it for herself.

Imagine being the press secretary for a Republican POTUS and being scared of Kaitlan Collins. She used to be a right-wing hack (most notably bizarrely attacking the Obamas' children when she worked for The Daily Wire).
😳😳😳

Democrat lawmakers tell military to refuse “illegal”orders in a video.

Karoline Leavitt lies about what the Democrats said in the video at the White House press briefing.

When Kaitlan Collin’s tells Leavitt “that’s not what they said’, Leavitt literally runs out of the room.

If Democrats were to win the U.S. House popular vote by 14%, that would result in something like an 80+ seat gain, far more than the minimum net gain Democrats would need for the U.S. House majority, and the Senate would probably flip Democratic as well.
New Marist generic ballot poll

I remember doubt when State Navigate and YouGov dropped their Virginia polls showing Dems up big

No New Jersey polls were even close to actual outcome

Probably entering a volatile political environment so good to keep open mind

This means the bill is on its way now—and we are one step closer to the Epstein files finally being released.

Aside:
If you ask Black folk that have lived all over this country 🙋🏿‍♂️what the most racist city they've lived in is, the most common winner is Boston.

Ironic, but Black folk can't convince white folk that Black folk understand which city is more racist.🤷🏿‍♂️
If you're talking about me, that is not what I said. The whole thread started bc a bunch of supposed progressives were like fuck the south, buncha racists, and I said that if you think of the south as all MAGA white people you are throwing a lot of people under the bus--especially Black Southerners

Then the knee jerk response from some people was "oh but the racists in the south are so much MOOORE racist." Which, no. A white supremacist in Brooklyn is not less in your face about it or less aggressive or less dangerous than one in Elmore County, AL.
