Artwork used internally at DIC Entertainment during the production of the Super Mario World cartoon, replacing Marge Simpson with Mario. According to a former DIC employee, this was made due to an inside joke at the studio, though the exact nature of the joke has been lost.

I want to be excited to see them. Give them memorable leitmotifs. Have characters talk about them. Show distinct signs they've been through the same areas as you. Maybe check-in with them periodically.

It can be joy, dread, etc...but build them up so I feel something when a confrontation happens.

Shadow the Hedgehog's soundtrack is indulgently gritty metal full of distorted guitar riffs and slap bass. I love it. One of the few areas where the game takes a familiar Sonic element, filters it through a thick layer of grim mid-2000s edge, and it ends up working well for me.

This happens again with a certain baddie in the Super manga and I'm not a fan of it there either. I like when DB villains designs get to be less humanoid in interesting ways.

I think doing this is partly why I'm more comfortable with the RT accelerator mapping the game thankfully lets you do. Playing the first two All-Stars Racing games got me used to "pumping" the gas while drifting, especially since I'd sometimes gravitate to the characters with bad cornering.

It let us gripe in the relative privacy of now-dead forums, and afforded us the perspective to celebrate little victories whenever we got them.

So lots of us who stuck around made it a point to encourage newcomers to not be cynical and do things they'd feel embarrassed about later like we did. 2/2

I think one of the absolute roughest times to be a DK fan (the years immediately following the Rare buyout) coinciding with the angsty teen/young adult years for a lot of us oldheads and before the omnipresence of social media turned out to have a pretty significant silver lining. 1/2

Agreed; VERY pretty game. Probably the best the cast has ever looked in 3D, wonderfully smooth framerate.

Despite how down on it I am, there's so much I genuinely DO really like about the game. Which makes all the parts that don't click with me feel worse.

Star Fox Zero. The main gimmick I didn't vibe with, the "SF64 reshuffled" script and story reset, the side characters with "wrong" voices, the handling of all-range, lack of audio options...

I feel usually fairly open-minded when a series I like makes Big Asks of me, and this just...asked too much.
