Idk, I feel like it's quite common for Rare fans and big DK fans to not like it, probably because it actually kinda missed the mark of the appeal of both stuff like Banjo-Kazooie and the DKC series. I'm its huge devotee though, I like it for what it is!

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, glitches can be used to keep Flavio as a follower. If Mario enters the 8-bit Easter egg room with him, he will assume the role of Mario's partner. As such, this can be used to make Flavio e.g. spin, drag Mario into the shadows, or explode.

I want to start doing some daily low-stakes warmup doodles again.
Thought it would be fun to try some DK or Mario characters/enemies I've never drawn (or if so, it's been a really long time). Suggest a character here and I might just draw them eventually!

I think a lot of the claw-marks and the squished Fractones you can see throughout the Core imply he was rampaging through, probably on all fours like in Smash.
But yeah, tbh this was their moment to re-establish him and I'm so glad they focused more on him being intelligent and scheming

I love it when they get more animalistic, but it does seem that most Kremlings would consider themselves "above it" normally. I think that's why we see K. Rool embrace the ferality more in Smash, he's been away for so long, he's just like "I'm back. Fuck it."

into a diverse and powerful species, developing an advanced ancient
society. But while the fortunes of the Krempire ebbed and flowed
through the ages, nothing in their history would prove so disastrous
as the rool of a certain Kaptain-King, whose unprecedented greed
led him to provoke the young leader of their neighboring island.
After all, what could those flea-bitten apes do against
the mighty army of tooth and scale and klaw?
And thus begins the story as we can witness it. It is a tale of defeat,
destruction, and despair: a story of baddies in a cartoon platformer
series who feel the suffering and consequences of their rotten ruler
and his poor decisions; who directly reflect their king's follies in
their fates and their forms - whose change in status and fortune
can be directly traced from game to game. It is a tale of misery
and mockery; a people who lost their strength and their homeland,
cut off from the powers that created them, in-universe and out:

They bite at the player in DK64 sometimes, yeah? Kind of ironic because they don't have visible teeth in that game lol. I don't even know why, since mostly they just run at you, but I have a distinct memory of it... Will turn on the game and try to catch it later
