In light of Banjo-Tooie's 25th anniversary, Gregg Mayles has divulged a bit more insight into how Tooie would have interacted with Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 via the scrapped Stop 'N' Swop feature.

The legendary Rare designer has shared yet another detail on how the Stop 'N' Swop feature would have unified Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Banjo-Tooie.

Just made a BlueSky account for Banana-related reasons, and to follow tabletop gaming folks/artists.

Thanks for @dkvine.com for bringing me into the online space for DK enjoyment. 🌼

Please enjoy this Emerald Rush nonsense I recently pulled off. First time hitting max Emeralds outside of Lagoon!

I’ve been attempting to clear Emerald Rush worlds in the order they’re unlocked before moving on. Thought I’d have to jump to Hilltop Layer, the third unlocked, for Tuesday’s Chunky/Lanky event before finishing Canyon Layer, but I’ve finally cleared Difficulty 7 tonight!

I’m 215 hours into Bananza.

And last but not least: the framed Kameo key art signed by the team, a case created as a joke by the Xbox QA team to house the very limited number of OG Xbox demos that were pressed, and the autograph of Romi Park.. voice actor of Edward from Full Metal Alchemist! Also: Japanese Kameo.

The video game character I relate to the most is the crab in Donkey Kong Bananza cowering within the confines of an upturned relic of the 1990s, sheltering themselves from the harsh light of the world outside.

Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero both celebrate their 20th anniversary today! Well, they're not actually celebrating, they're merely data and incapable of expressing emotion, but you and us? We can celebrate. To all the pummelled Trolls and Infection mode brawls!

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest 30th anniversary is today, so I made this art
November 21, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (Super Donkey Kong 2) was released in Japan on this date 30 years ago! If the original DKC was everything I had wanted in a game at the time, DKC2 was what pushed me over the line as a lifelong DK and Rare obsessive. The greatest 2D platformer of all time!

I was giving Diddy Kong his birthday spankings in Donkey Kong Bananza (30 spanks for DKC2’s 30th anniversary), knocked his cap off, and realized that, in addition to the DD pin and millimeter of flesh between his eyes, he’s now developing a cowlick like Donkey Kong.

25 years since we released Banjo-Tooie! Have a boss-montage. Bosses are always the most fun to make. See how big and strong Mr Patch is!

While today marks Banjo-Tooie's 24-year, seven-month-and-eight-day anniversary in the EU, it's also the 25th anniversary of this second helping of bear and bird landing in America! Please use this post to reminisce over its connected worlds, new abilities and murder of Bottles.

I've steadfastly argued for years that Donkey Kong Country 2, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in Japan on November 21st, was actually delayed two weeks in the Americas to the week of December 4th. The reasons behind it were always unclear (I've got theories), but this vintage ad backs me up!

The #Kongversation finishes discussing Donkey Kong Bananza's post-game! It's the most difficult Bananza Rehearsals, the best character resolutions, and the simple joy of harmonizing Stickerbush Symphony with a bunch of disco rocks.

I woke up in a cold sweat this morning, panicked over the realization that Donkey Kong 64 was missing individual color-coded sporting goods for each character.

And then the universe provides.

On the next episode, I'll be joined by @kotbox64.bsky.social to discuss Donkey Kong Bananza's DLC return to the surface and the reunion with the Kongs. It might be shameless reference porn, but at least it's finally shameless reference porn for US!

This is a terrific overview of one of the most unique tales in Nintendo history. You've got politics of corporate ownership running into creative pride, giving way to unique circumstances that allowed fans a once-in-a-lifetime shot of influencing the direction of their favorite series. A must watch!
I've been waiting a long time for this moment.

This is a full documentary on King K. Rool, his character, his boss fights, and his fall from grace along with the DK series. But more importantly, it is the story of how DK's fanbase rallied to make a series in limbo shine again under one jolly roger.
